Position Description:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting equipment and site property; making adjustments and/or mechanical/electrical repairs to the machines and equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
A working knowledge of auxiliary industrial support equipment, including but not limited to:
Chillers, Compressors (high or low pressure), Towers, Air Dryers, Pumps, etc.
General repair and regular maintenance of industrial air compressors with greater than 500 horsepower motors.
Have working knowledge of general building and ground maintenance, including but not limited to:
120/227V electrical, lighting, plumbing, and painting, etc.
Have a working knowledge of fire systems (monitoring, inspections, testing), facility access systems, emergency lighting system, etc.
Ensures operation of auxiliary equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacture's instructions; notifying supervisor of needed repairs.
Enhances auxiliary equipment performance through monitoring and making adjustments.
Adheres to plant preventive maintenance as outlined in PICS and follows proper work order procedures.
Locate parts efficiently and effectively utilizing proper parts room checkout procedures.
Attends required training sessions to increase knowledge base.
Performs all assigned work in a safe manner, upholding Plastipak Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Involved in installation projects and/or modifications.
Miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
2-year degree or prior work experience with certifications on relevant disciplines.
Team oriented in all job functions.
Self-motivated and flexibility of job assignment.
Blend of technical, interpersonal skills and continuous learning through training.
Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
Basic computer skills.
PLC Programming Knowledge is a plus.
